Our past shapes who we are today and informs the decisions we make. When I first started on this journey to discover my "roots" I was amazed at how connected we all are. It has given me a deeper understanding of not only my ancestors but the cultures from which they came. In spite of how different we are from each other, we all have commonalities that bind us together.
